Important NC State Offices

There are many offices on campus that provide support to IEP students. Below is the contact information and location for the offices IEP students visit most often.

Campus Police

NC State University Police Officers have the same powers and responsibilities as local police and sheriff’s departments. On campus, the University Police enforce North Carolina law, investigate crimes, respond to emergencies, patrol university property and provide safety education. The Police Department also provides a safety escort service between 10 PM and 4 AM for students.

The Department operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Uniformed police officers patrol campus in cars, on horseback, bikes and foot.

Office of International Services (OIS)

The Office of International Services helps international students with questions about their visas or immigration status. They also offer many resources for adjusting to life in the United States and programming to get involved at NC State.

Student Health Services

If you are sick during your stay at NC State, we encourage you to go to the Student Health Center. Doctors and nurses at the health center do routine examinations and can treat most common illnesses without sending you to the hospital.

If it is an emergency call 911 immediately – do not go to the health center.

Counseling Center

Student Legal Services provides NC State students a variety of legal services for FREE!

SOME SERVICES THEY PROVIDE:

  • understand legal documents, like leases
  • assist in landlord/tenant problems
  • represent students in court in civil matters of $10,000 or less
  • give advice on traffic tickets
  • write letters and make phone calls on the student’s behalf
  • advice on leasing or buying a new or used car
