IEP Semester Dates
The IEP offers two 15-week semesters in the fall and spring and one 10-week session in the summer*. Click on the link below for the upcoming semester dates. If links are not active, please scroll down to find detailed dates for each semester of the 2022-2023 academic year.
2023-2024 Academic Semester Dates

*The summer session is generally recommended for returning students due to its shortened schedule. The Summer 2023 session, however, is accepting new students. Email iep@ncsu.edu for more information if you are interested in applying for the summer IEP 10-week session.
The IEP semester dates are for the following students:
- English language students
- Undergraduate conditionally admitted students
- Pathway Program students
- Semester dates are for IEP classes only.
- Credit classes follow the university’s academic calendar.
- Graduate conditionally admitted students
- Part-time students

Calendar Terms
Official Enrollment Date
The last day for a student to withdraw without being counted as having attempted his/her current level of study. After this date, the student’s attempt at his/her current level will count as one of the three opportunities to complete a level in the IEP.
If a student wishes to withdraw, they should first read the IEP Withdrawal Procedures in the Current Student Portal. It is important to note that there are dates during the semester where the financial and visa implications of withdrawing change.
Drop/Revision Deadline: Last Day to Request a Withdrawal
Withdrawals after this date are granted only when exceptional circumstances exist. If a student wishes to withdraw, they should first read the IEP Withdrawal Procedures in the Current Student Portal.
