The Intensive English Program offers in-person and online ESL courses for all wanting to improve their English skills.

IN-PERSON EVENING ESL CLASS

If you want to practice your English speaking and listening skills, these ESL classes are for you. Our in-person ESL classes are especially designed for students at beginning and – new for fall!intermediate/advanced proficiency levels. After you register, we will forward a link to an online English proficiency test to determine which class is best for you.

    • Two evenings a week from 6pm to 8pm

    • Each course is 2 evenings/week for 12 weeks

    • $300 for 48 hours of instruction
    • That is about $6 per class!

    • Our evening classes are friendly, interactive, and focused on the words and phrases you need right now for work, at school, and in your community.
  • INTERMEDIATE and ADVANCED LEVEL CONVERSATION COURSE
    • Let’s take your English speaking skills to the next level.
    • Maybe you are being asked to speak up in meetings, make presentations at work or advocate for you or your family at schools, in the community.
    • If your English is understandable most of the time, but not ALL of the time, then this class is for you.

When you enroll in one of our online classes, we will send you our in-house English test to make sure you are in a class that will benefit your current English skills.

Business English Writing

In the world of business, communicating clearly and concisely in written form is required of mid- and upper-level employees. In this course, participants will examine the conventions of acceptable business English (BE) communication. Using task-based activities, participants will work to define the purpose, as well as the proper structure, tone, and formality required within a variety of written communications common in business today.

Recommended for intermediate to advanced levels of English proficiency

  • Recommended for students with intermediate to advanced level English writing skills

Beginning Level English Conversation

If you do not speak very much English yet, this course is designed for you. A friendly, fun, and USEFUL first course, Beginning Level Conversation is designed to introduce students to the sounds of English , useful vocabulary, and common phrases to use in conversations at work, at school, and in the community.

  • Recommended for students with beginning level English speaking skills

Next Level English Conversation Skills

Communicate with confidence in a variety of situations! This course offers students a chance to experiment with and practice English for extended conversations appropriate to community life, the workplace, and/or in a school setting. Students will be introduced to conversational strategies, practice using correct pronunciation when speaking and be given individual feedback on how to be better understood.

  • Recommended for students with intermediate to advanced English speaking skills

Pronunciation of American English

This course is designed to focus on pronunciation skills which will enable non-native English speakers to be better understood when engaging in daily conversation. Students receive individual assessments of their current speech patterns and areas in need of improvement. Upon completion, students should be able to pronounce English words, phrases, and sentences with increased accuracy and intelligibility.

  • Open to all English proficiency levels
  • A textbook may be required

COMING SUMMER 2027 – 9-Week Academic Readiness Summer Course

ONLINE COURSE NOTES:

  • No grades are given for our online evening courses. A certificate of completion can be issued upon request.
  • All courses are first-come, first-served.
  • Some courses will have a small amount of homework outside of class.
  • A minimum number of students is required to run each course. If the minimum is not met, course fees will be refunded.
  • During adverse weather events and other emergency conditions when the University’s schedule is altered, course participants will be notified by their instructor or the IEP of any change to the course schedule. All efforts will be made to reschedule the class session.
